We’re proud to announce that we’ve led a Series A investment in Tycho AI, where the team is defining the next frontier of autonomous intelligence.
Tycho AI’s mission is as ambitious as it is essential: to build systems that can navigate and operate reliably in the world’s most complex and unpredictable environments — without dependence on GPS or constant connectivity. Their “Voyager” platform combines multi-modal sensing with advanced machine learning to enable truly resilient autonomy — technology that can “see” and “feel” its surroundings to make intelligent decisions at the edge.
The company was cofounded by MIT Professor Sertac Karaman and Thom Kenney, a U.S. Army veteran and technologist with deep experience at the intersection of data, AI, and defense innovation. Sertac, who leads MIT’s Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), has spent his career at the forefront of robotics and autonomy research, and we are honored to be backing him for a second time at FirstMark.
Together, Sertac and Thom combine world-class academic expertise with real-world operational leadership — a partnership uniquely suited to tackle one of the hardest problems in autonomy: making intelligent systems that perform reliably when the world is at its most complex.
We’re thrilled to partner once again with Sertac — alongside Thom and broader the Tycho AI team — as they pursue their bold vision.
