We’re excited to announce our investment in GoodDay as they build the most powerful AI-native ERP for modern retail brands.

We’ve known Co-Founders Kyle Hency and Dave Wardell for years through their previous ventures, where they gained deep domain expertise directly as D2C operators while building the beloved Chubbies brand. Together, they scaled Chubbies to nine-figures in revenue and sold successfully to Solo Brands. While building Chubbies, they developed and spun out the software that became Loop Returns. Kyle went on to serve as Loop’s executive chair, FirstMark invested in the Series A, and Loop now powers over 5000 DTC brands as the leading returns management software platform for Shopify.

At FirstMark, we’ve seen the pain of legacy ERPs up close through our investments in leading DTC brands such as Brooklinen, Thuma, Mockingbird, and House of Noa, alongside our software e-commerce investments such as Shopify, Loop Returns, Bluecore and Highbeam. NetSuite and similar systems were not built for the pace and complexity of modern retail. Trying to fit a standard ERP for DTC requires 7-figure spend and months of work from an army of consultants just to get set up. Once implemented, you still don’t have proper inventory visibility and automation. As a result, the same patterns repeat across the board: as products scale and become multi-channel, managing inventory becomes exponentially more challenging, and teams end up manually reconciling in spreadsheets. The software that should enable scaling becomes the bottleneck.

GoodDay is part of a broader awakening in B2B software: ERPs need to be rebuilt for the AI ERA. With inventory-based retail, the complexity isn’t just in the general ledger, but in tracking products across so many different inventory stages (suppliers, warehouses, wholesale, transit, or selling channels etc). Every financial workflow becomes exponentially more complex. Without precise inventory visibility, you can’t accurately close books, recognize revenue, manage stockouts, forecast cash needs, or make informed buying decisions. To enable AI to reliably automate these workflows, the GoodDay team has built the proper data foundation and embedded their lived experiences into agents. 40+ brands are already relying on GoodDay, and their system has helped brands manage inventory at 70% lower TCO and launch products in weeks, not months.

We’re thrilled to partner with Kyle, Dave, and the entire GoodDay team as they build the modern operating system for retail brands.
