Announcing our $13M Series A in Momentum

Over the last decade, all customer interactions have become powered by software, from meetings, to SMS, emails, surveys, support chats, product feedback submissions and more. The modern organization that has achieved this is left with a corpus of data – sales rep notes, Salesforce fields, marketing funnel data, product metrics, ticket resolutions – and very limited options to synthesize and effectively parse it all. 

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re leading a $13m Series A in Momentum, the leading AI-native customer intelligence and observability platform. 

Momentum seamlessly integrates across its customers’ technology stacks to extract and synthesize data at scale. The platform gives its users the equivalent of an army of admins and analysts that deeply understands every touchpoint with a customer and thoughtfully extracts insights and drives actions out of those interactions.

If this sounds like a broad vision, that’s because it is! We spoke with myriad customers over the course of getting to know the Momentum team, many of whom were FirstMark portfolio companies. Beyond loving the product, they had incredibly different use cases and experiences. The flexibility of Momentum’s proprietary context engine and prompt generation is what allows Ramp to auto-fill dozens of custom Salesforce fields after a sales call, Zscaler to deploy Momentum across their customer success team to triage churn risks and expansion opportunities, and 1Password’s CRO to get custom briefs in Slack about the previous week’s new business in EMEA. 

Over the last year, we’ve met with dozens of companies harnessing the latest breakthroughs in large language models and generative AI. Momentum stands alone in their creation of real, durable enterprise value on behalf of their customers and the sophistication of the product they’ve built around this foundational technology shift. Going forward, there are endless opportunities to build workflows on Momentum across the entire organization, as the voice of the customer is relevant everywhere. We see a world where Momentum acts as the hub to turn any unstructured data into a rich source of cross organizational, company-wide automation. 

At the heart of the success of Momentum is a wonderful founding team of world-class technologists and people. Leading the charge is Santiago Ordoñez, Momentum’s co-founder and CEO. Santi rose from the first hire to director of engineering at Sauce Labs, ran a SWAT team of infrastructure engineers at MuleSoft leading up to its IPO, and most recently was the founder / CTO of Blameless. Together, Santi, Ashley and Moiz have the unique mix of unparalleled insight, rare humility and clear vision that we deeply appreciate at FirstMark. 

Momentum represents the latest in a growing lineage of AI-native applications at FirstMark, including: Dataiku, Hyperscience, H Company, Synthesia, Guru, Alaffia and more.
